The Florida Photonics Cluster (FPC) has named Carol Ann Logue as Executive Director. A longtime leader within the organization, Logue has served on the FPC Board of Directors for the past ten years and brings extensive experience in building innovation ecosystems, supporting technology companies, and strengthening industry partnerships.

Logue joins the Cluster following a distinguished career at the University of Central Florida, where she served as Director of the university’s eight-site Business Incubation Program and Innovation Districts. In that role, she helped support early-stage companies and advance key industry clusters, including photonics.

Her career also includes significant experience supporting collaboration between industry, defense organizations, and federal research institutions.

Highlights of her background include:

Defense Collaboration: Co-Founder and Director of the Central Florida Tech Grove, an innovation hub established through a partnership between the UCF Research Foundation and the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division along with multiple national security partners.

Federal Technology Transfer: Associate Director for the Southern Technology Applications Center while on faculty at the University of Florida, supporting technology commercialization for NASA and other federal laboratories.

Private Sector Strategy: Vice President of Information Services at Technology Strategic Planning Inc., a Defense Intelligence Agency spinout providing competitive analysis to Fortune 50 companies.

Logue has also been active across Florida’s innovation and technology community. She currently serves on the board of the VR/AR Association of Central Florida and manages activities for the Central Florida STEM Education Council. She is also involved with Innovate Orlando, the Florida Business Incubation Association, and FaithTech Orlando.

“We are confident that Carol Ann’s experience, leadership, and longstanding commitment to Florida Photonics Cluster will help drive the organization forward,” said Ty Olmstead, President of Florida Photonics Cluster.

FPC looks forward to working with Logue as she leads the organization into its next phase of growth and collaboration.
